I was born in Latvia, where sauna traditions aren't a luxury—they are a family ritual. Every Saturday, without missing a beat, we gathered to wind down from the week. I remember the specific smell of the wood and the way the birch sauna whisk felt. It was a time for maximum relaxation and spending time with the people who mattered most.

Bringing the Tradition Home

Since moving to Guernsey two decades ago, that ritual was something I truly missed. It took a few recent visits back to Eastern Europe and Scandinavia with my family to relight that passion. Experiencing the hot and cold cycle again reminded me that this kind of recovery isn't just about the heat; it’s about the mental space it creates.
